MEET MELODY
Hi, I'm a wedding photographer based in Newark, a stones' throw from Nottingham. My journey with a camera started many years ago, but back in 2013, I embarked on a BA Hons degree in Photography from Nottingham Trent University. This full time, intensive three-year course, gave me the technical skill and creative vision that I bring to every wedding I shoot.
For me, the perfect photo is a beautiful blend of light, emotion, and authentic moments. I believe your wedding photos should feel like a genuine reflection of your day, not a series of stiff, forced poses. I'm a long-time Canon user, and my professional gear allows me to capture those fleeting, unscripted moments with clarity and warmth.
The East Midlands is a spectacular place to call home. From the dramatic Derbyshire peaks to the charm of Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter and of course, the peaceful Lincolnshire Wolds. I really am surrounded by some of the most romantic wedding backdrops in the country.

How would you describe your style?
I focus on honest, natural moments. My approach is simple and unobtrusive; I’m there to document your story as it unfolds, rather than directing it. No awkward staging, just real memories.
How long until we see our images?
I know how exciting it is to relive the day. You’ll receive a "preview" set within a few days of the wedding, with your full, hand edited digital gallery ready within 6–8 weeks.
Do we need to provide a shot list?
Beyond a short list of family formals (which we’ll keep quick and relaxed), I don’t use a rigid shot list. This allows me to stay present and capture the spontaneous, genuine moments that make your day unique.
What if it rains?
Rain often brings a beautiful, atmospheric light to photos, and an overcast day is actually better than a very sunny day, however I’m well-prepared for all conditions, and we’ll find quiet indoor area, or use the natural elements to keep your story looking honest and beautiful.
Are you insured?
Absolutely. I carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, so you and your venue can have total peace of mind.
How do we book?
It’s very straightforward. Once we’ve had a chat and you’re happy to move forward, a signed digital contract and a booking fee will secure your date in my diary.
Can we add an album later?
Of course. While many couples include a Folio Album in their initial collection, you can choose to design one at any point after the wedding. They are handcrafted locally and make for a perfect first anniversary gift.
Do you travel?
Why not? While I love shooting in the East Mids, I’m always happy to travel across the UK and beyond to document a story.
